TRIP OVERVIEW
Tamang Heritage Trek is lying north of the Kathmandu Valley, This trek is a special culture heritage trail trekking route that highlights an ancient rich cultural heritage of the Tamang people in Langtang valley – a Tibetan origin ethnic groups. The Tamang people originally came from Tibet as horse traders and settled in hilly parts of Nepal several hundred years ago. They have retained a distinct identity with Tibetan roots, as well as their own language. They have historically been one of the most marginalized ethnic groups in Nepal. This Trek offers some of the most beautiful scenery in the country—terraced green farmland, thick forests, and Tamang Culture and Panoramic view of mount Langtang, Kerung and Ganesh Himal are simply stunning, the unexplored northern Langtang valley has recently been developed into the Tamang Heritage Trail. A Border between Tibet and Nepal at Rasuwagadi is a historical reminder of the Nepal Tibet relation that has existed for many centuries. We pass many traditional local villages and monasteries that have remained unchanged on this Tamang heritage trekking route in Langtang region

DETAIL ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Waiba Adventure Trek who will drop you to your hotel in Kathmandu. A full briefing will be given after you check in. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will be going for whole day city sightseeing with the Nepali tour guide to most historical attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed on UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the biggest Stupa in the world. The tour is likely to finish around 4pm and the rest of the day is free to explore around Thamel around your hotel as well as to pack your baggage for the trek starting tomorrow morning. You can leave a bag at the hotel with items not needed on the trek. Overnight at Fuji Guest House or similar in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Drive from Kathmandu to Syabru Besi overnight in Syabru Besi (1503m) 9-10 hours drive
After breakfast we will drive for Syabrubesi, a village which is our trek starting point for Langtang valley. We will drive via Trisuli bazar and Dhunche. On the arrival at the Dhunche this is the major town of the Langtang area of Rasuwa district. We will also be encountering the Headquarter of the Langtang National park office. On a clear day we get to enjoy outstanding views of Manaslu,Ganesh Himal and langtang Himal. Overnight in Syabru Besi.
Day 04: Trek to Gatlang (2,238m) 5 hours trek
Our trek starts from today. From Syabrubesi, we trek across the Goljung Village enjoying views of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Lirung and others. Today we experience the diverse traditional settlements throughout our journey this will make our trekking memorable. Gatlang is a Tamang ethnic settlement set on a hillside along with the terrace farming. We may visit Tamang monastery and Parvathi Kunda Lake here. Overnight in Gatlang.
Day 05: Trek to Tatopani (2607m) 6-7 hours trek
After breakfast, we trek to Tatopani. The name Tatopani literally means ‘hot water’ in Nepali owing to the natural hot springs there. However, the hot springs are no longer there after the earthquake that hit Nepal in April 2015. If they rebuild we can enjoy hot spring bath in the natural springs which is situated at the lap of the Himalayas. Today first we descend to Thangbuche with the magnificent view of the Ganesh Himal and Langtang Ranges along the way. Next, we pass by the Chilime Hydropower dam and ascend until Tatopani. Overnigh in Tatopani.
Day 06: Trek to Thuman (2338m) 6 hours trek
Today we trek to Thuman via Brimdang and Nagthali. Passing through the dense alpine forest, we reach the small Tamang settlement of Brimdang. From here, its a few hours walk uphill until Nagthali hill. From Nagthali we can view the amazing view of Langtang ranges, Ganesh, Sanjen and Kerung Himal. Then, we descend downhill towards to Thuman where we’ll spend the night. Overnight in Thuman
Day 07: Trek to Briddhim (2,229m) 6 hours trek
After breakfast, we trek to Briddhim via Lingling. Briddhim is a Tibetan Buddhist settlement from Thuman taking the trails through Lingling. It is ideally located on the lap of the Langtang Himal. Here, we visit the Dukchu Gomba monastery. In Briddim, we notice that most of the houses are built by stones and there are inhabited mostly by people of Tibetan origin. Briddim in fact, resembles a typical Tibetan village on this side of Tibet. Overnight in Briddhim.
Day 08: Trek to Syabrubesi (1503m) 4 – 5 hours trek
Today, we trek from Briddhim to Syabru Besi which is last day of the trek. The trail gently descends through the Rhododendron Bushes till Wangal which takes about 3 hours. Then we continue our trek to Syabrubesi another 2 hours the place we have started our trek and also we ending our trek here today. Overnight in Syabru Besi.
Day 09: Drive to Kathmandu
After breakfast, a beautiful drive back from Syabru Besi to Kathmandu by jeep, this takes around 7-8 Hours. Overnight Stay at Hotel in Kathmandu.
Day 10: In Kathmandu
Day of leisure in Kathmandu, do some souvenir shopping to take memory back home. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 11: Final departure
Our amazing journey to Tamang Heritage trek comes to end today. A company representative will drop you off at the airport 3 hours before our scheduled flight.
