TRIP OVERVIEW
Khopra Danda is newly opened trekking destination for trekkers in the Annapurna region; there is no doubt that Kopra Ridge is one of the best short treks in Nepal. It is a community based trekking trail that has been developed as per the eco-friendly concept.It is remote mountain ridges with fantastic views. This trek is both remote and quite short, passing through isolated Gurung and Magar villages, and beautiful forests. Trekking through rhododendron forests, we aim for Kopra Ridge (3660m), a spectacular vantage view point where we can enjoy the fantastic view of Nilgiri, Annapurna South (7237m), Annapurna I (8091m) and the Dhaulagiri (8167m) massif rising above the Kali Gandaki river Valley. Our trip start from Kade and goes through,-Australian Camp-Landruk-Tadapani-Khopra Danda and returns through beautiful Magar village, Shikha-Mahare Danda-Nagi-Galeshwor and from Galeshowor drive to Pokhara.
OUTLINE ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrive in Kathmandu, transfer to Hotel
Day 02: Full day sightseeing in Kathmandu valley.
Day 03: Fly or drive to Pokhara. Short drive to Kade and trek to Australian Base Camp
Day 04: Trek to Landruk (1640m)
Day 05: Trek to Chuile (1800m)
Day 06: Trek to Do Bato (3420m)
Day 07: Trek to Chistibung (3150m).
Day 08: Trek to Kopra Dada (3880m)
Day 09: Explore around Overnight in Khopra Dada

DETAIL ITINERARY
Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu
Upon your arrival in Kathmandu airport, you will be greeted by a representative from Waiba Adventure Trek who will drop you to your hotel in Kathmandu. A full briefing will be given after you check in. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 02: Sightseeing in Kathmandu
After breakfast, you will be going for whole day city sightseeing with the Nepali tour guide to most historical attractions in Kathmandu which are also listed on UNESCO World Heritage sites. We visit the historic Durbar Square, the sacred Hindu temple of Pashupatinath, the famous ‘Monkey Temple’ (Swayambhunath) and Buddhist shrine (Bouddhanath), which is also one of the biggest Stupa in the world. The tour is likely to finish around 4pm and the rest of the day is free to explore around Thamel around your hotel as well as to pack your baggage for the trek starting tomorrow morning. You can leave a bag at the hotel with items not needed on the trek. Overnight at Fuji Guest House or similar in Kathmandu.
Day 03: Flight to Pokhara,Drive to Kande and trek to Australian Camp (1880m) – 1/5 hrs trek
After breakfast, we take the morning flight to Pokhara the flight time Kathmandu to Pokhara is 22 minutes with scenic mountain views of Langtang Himal, Ganesh Himal, Manaslu, lamjung Himal and Annapurna Massif. On arrival you will drive for about 40 minutes from Pokhara to Kande the trek starting point. Here we start our trek it is about one and half hours walk up takes us at Australian Camp. This is a lovely walk through Rhododendron and Oak forest. You will have spectacular views of mt. Annapurna and Machhapuchhre Range from here. Overnight in Australian Camp.
Day 04: Trek to Landruk (1565m) – 5/6 hrs trek
Today we continue our trek through out Pothana – Pitam Deurali – Bhedi Kharka – Tolka. We start with gradual walk till Bhichok Deurali then we follow the steeply descending trail until Bhedi Kharka and then gradual walk where we arrive at the pretty village of Landruk. This area is well known for its wildlife conservation, we walk through beautiful forest of Oak, Rhododendron, Alder tree and other more. Overnight in Landruk.
Day 05: Trek to Chuile (2250m) – 6 hrs trek
From Landruk, you follow the trail down to Modi Khola river cross the bridge and continue the walk up via stones steps trail to Ghandruk village. Ghandruk is the largest mountain village mainly inhabited by the ethnic groups of Gurung, this village is famous for being a major recruiting source of Gorkhs soldiers for both Indian and British army. On the way, we can enjoy great views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli, mt. Fishtail (Machhapuchhre) and Ganggapurna. After we proceed gradually up to Komrong danda and continue to Chuile. Overnight in Chuile.
Day 06: Trek to Do Bato (3420m) – 5 hrs trek
After Tadapani we leave the main road and we walk in remote trekking route of the Annapurna region. On the way, we walk through a thick forest of rhododendrons and if we are lucky we might see wild animal such as, langur, Himalayan Thar, and barking deer. The views of the Annapurna Range emerging above the tree line are stunning when we arrive at Dobato. Overnigh in Do Bato.
Day 07: Trek Chistibung (3150m) – 4/1 hrs trek
After breakfast we progress our trek continue traverses through grassy slope, pasture and numbers of herder huts. If you’re lucky, we might spot the colorful Lophophorus (Danphe), the national bird of Nepal, as well as Himalayan Thar on the grassy ridge high above the trail. Beautiful ridge, small pass, and long descent in the rhododendrons forest to reach the bottom of the valley, then ascended to reach Upper Chistibung. Overnight in Chistibung.
Day 08: Trek to Khopra Dada (3660m) – 3 hrs trek
We embark on a steady climb above the tree line through alpine meadows and pastures to reach Khopra. From here you have an extraordinary panorama view on Annapurna South, Himchuli, Dhaulagiri Himal, Annapurna Fang, Nilgiri, Machhapuchhre. After lunch it is well worth going for a short walk down to Kopra Ridge a Viewpoint overlooking Kali Gandaki river far below in this deep valley.
Day 09: Rest day in Kopra Dada: Hike to Kaire lake(4500m) – 3 hrs Hike
After early breakfast we start hiking from Khopra Ridge towards to Kaire Lake where the view of the Annapurna Fang and surrounding mountains are superb. The Kaire Lake is considered to be a Holi lake by the Hindus,It is believed that bathing in the lake will help attain Nirvana. As Hinduism and Buddhism are intricately related in Nepal, we can even see a number of Hindu and Buddhist shrine on the lakeside. For those of you not wanting to walk all the way to the Kair lake we can arrange a half day walk from Kopra. Overnight in Khopra Ridge.
Day 10: Trek to Shikha (1935m) – 7 hrs trek
From Khopra we descent down through Cistibung ,Swanta to Shikha. Along the way we got more views of Mount Dhaulagiri one of the seventh highest mountains in the world 8167m. We trek through rhododendrons forest, terraced fields and traditional houses in the villages. After nice lunch at Swanta we proceed gradual down to Shikha a lovely Magar Village. Overnight in Shikha.
Day 11: Trek to Ghorepani (2874m) – 4 hrs trek
Leaving Shikha villag we will join the main trekking trail to Ghorepani where there are far more others trekkers on the trail. From Shikha we ascent uphill via Chittre village and on the back drop you will have lovely view of with Mt. Dhaulagiri. Overnight in Ghorepani.
Day 12: Hike to Poon Hill -1/5 hrs walk, Trek to Ulleri – 3 hrs trek and drive to Pokhara -3 hrs drive.
We leave early morning for sunrise in Poon Hill, (1 hour up and 35 minutes down from Ghorepani) while you are here you will get nice cup of coffee or Tea then you enjoy the amazing view of sun rises from the mighty Himalayas. Since this is popular view point there will be quite a crowded. After, you will head down to Ghorepani and you have a breakfast then trek continue down to Ulleri 3 hours from where you will take a jeep ride to Pokhara 2 hours. Overnight in Pokhara.
Day 13: Sightseeing in Pokhara then fly to Kathmandu
Today after breakfast, we drive up to World Peace Stupa which offers a panoramic last view of Annapurna range. We also get a wonderful view of the entire Pokhara valley and Phewa Lake. After spending some time at the stupa, we drive back to Pokhara along the way we stop at Davis falls, and then to Barahi Temple, It is a Hindu temple of the Goddess Durga, the protector of gods. It is located in a small island on the south east section of Phewa Lake in Pokhara. we catch a late afternoon flight back to Kathmandu and transfer you to the hotel. Overnight in Kathmandu.
Day 14: Final departure
Our journey in Nepal comes to an end today! A Waiba Adventure Trek representative will drop to the airport approximately 3 hours before your flight time. Have a safe journey back home, Namaste!
